Brian Meynell
I had never written or even thought of writing. When i retired my brain went into writing overdrive. Songs, poems and stories suddenly appeared from goodness know where. To say i was amazed is a total understatement.
I have self published 2 childrens books that were inspired by becoming a grandad.
Do you try more to be original, or to deliver to readers what they want?
I just take what comes, i would like to think it is original. If readers enjoy it that`s a real bonus.
How do you select the names of your characters?
usually based on people i`ve met or know.
If you had to do something differently as a child or teenager to become a better writer as an adult, what would you do?
I would have read when i was younger, i was very late to reading.
Have you Googled yourself? Did you find out anything interesting?
No.
Are there any secrets in your books that only a few people will find? Can you tell us one? Or give us any hints?
it wouldn`t be a secret if i told ya,would it?
Did you ever consider writing under a pseudonym? Why?
oh yes,i hate putting my name on a book.
How did publishing your first book change your writing process?
If you learn from your mistakes,i must have learned an awful lot!
How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?
5-6
Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
I used to take bad comments, very personally. I take good comments as encouragement to keep doing this thing.
I have learned over time that there will always be different views and personal opinions.
